My responsibilities mirrored that of a Safety Steward. During training hours, time was spent monitoring training, patrolling barns, and responding to any incidents that occurred. Racing saw a similar group of responsibilities: patrolling barn areas, monitoring paddock activity, acting as patrol judge and gate judge, and responding to any incidents that occurred during the races. Outside of routine responsibilities, assisting the Stewards in projects related to equine safety and racing integrity were commonplace.
