The Racing Officials Accreditation Program Announces Upcoming Certificate Course at Laurel Park
The Racing Officials Accreditation Program (ROAP) and Maryland Jockey Club are pleased to announce a ROAP Certificate Course will be held at Laurel Park March 21-22, 2019. The ROAP Certificate Course consists of general racing industry education and job-specific modules for each specific racing official position. Each participant will focus on clerk of scales, horse identifier, paddock judge, patrol judge, outrider, and starter / assistant starter.
The course is open to the public and is geared toward those who want to become a racing official or who are interested in learning more about racing officials in general. Current officials are also encouraged to attend.
Registration is required by March 14. The cost for the two-day course is $75 and includes lunch for one day. Please visit horseracingofficials.com/classes/42966 to register.

The mission of ROAP is to accredit and provide continuing education to all racing officials, stewards and judges in the horse racing industry. By doing so ROAP is enhancing the image and upholding the integrity of horse racing at all levels.
ROAP, which receives primary funding from The Jockey Club and is based in its Kentucky office, is a 501(c)(6) organization whose board of directors is made up of representatives from 17 industry organizations and 10 at-large representatives.
