THIS POSITION IS PAID AT A DAILY RATE OF $144 TO $203
Position runs from late April to late September, subject to Fairmount Park annual race dates request.
Under the general supervision of the Field Operations Manager through the State Stewards; monitors and regulates racing in accordance with Racing Board rules; verifies the identification criteria matches the registered horse; notifies stewards of any discrepancies; acts as liaison with horseman and other track personnel with any concerns regarding horse identification; compiles a list of all tattoo numbers and utilizes a database of various information. Must be able to act in the capacity of a Vet Technician, if the need arises. All duties enumerated are only to be performed during the course of a live race meet.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school; college degree preferred. Requires strong writing and speaking skills. The duties of this position can be performed at any racetrack under the jurisdiction of the IRB and requires the ability to travel to and from any track as assigned; requires familiarity with the administrative rules and statute; requires the ability to be comfortable and confident around horses; requires familiarity and ability to work well with horses. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and related internet programs. Requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; the ability to bend, reach above shoulder level, lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
